Former child star Brad Renfro who once got a big break when he was cast opposite Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones in The Client has been arrested in a sting operation.

The undercover officers masqueraded as street dealers in scruffy clothing as they lured unsuspecting buyers to purchase balloons filled with fake heroin along Spring and 6th streets.

The officers made an arrest about every 5 to 10 minutes, yelling “Cancel Christmas” as a signal to uniformed officers to move in and make the arrest.

Among those held on suspicion of felony attempted possession was actor Brad Renfro, who has appeared in such films as “The Client,” “Apt Pupil” and “Ghost World.”

What’s up with all these has-been or soon to be has-been stars going bad. In recent week there was the drunk driving by Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros, Caprice Bourret, the shooting death of a NYPD police officer involving actor Lillo Brancato. Now we have this story of a heroin sting operation involving Renfro. This New Years stars will need to have a New Years resolution that includes not getting arrested.

Ben Harper and Laura Dern

Singer-songwriter Ben Harper and actress Laura Dern were married in a sunset ceremony this past Friday afternoon. The wedding took place in front of about 150 close family and friends, according to Us Weekly.

The both have two children together, son Ellery is 4 and daughter Jaya is 1. This is the first marriage for Laura and the second one for Ben.

In the past, Laura had been engaged to both Jeff Goldblum and Billy Bob Thornton. The engagement with Thornton ended when he left her for lush lips Angelina Jolie.
