Over 12,000 people attended a sale of 1,000 used Apple iBook in Virginia. All this stampede for some four year old laptops. As a result of this 17 people were injured and four needed treatment at the hospital. I bet most of these people went to get the $50 laptop in hopes of auctioning it off on eBay. I guess no one at the school district knew about eBay or too lazy to sell it there. They could have even hired a trading assistant to do the work and still make more than what they did at the sale.
