Korea to ban Da Vinci Code?
Posted by George on April 9th, 2006

A group of South Korean Christian called Christian Council of Korea has filed a court injunction to ban the Da Vinci Code movie from being shown in the country’s theaters. The group told the court that the movie is “an insult and defamation” to Jesus Christ and the Bible.

According to the BBC the group also added that they were “concerned about the damage that would be caused to individuals’ faith” because of what is in the film.

The film is currently scheduled to open in the country next month after its world premiere at Cannes on May 17.

Until recently, the movie was in limbo due to the writer Dan Brown being sued for plagiarising the story from the book The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail by Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh. But the London’s High Court found that Brown did not copy the central theme from the two authors book.
