Robert De Niro next project may well be a newspaper publisher. According to some reports, De Niro and his partners from the Tribeca Film Centre and Festival (Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff) are in talks to buy The New York Observer newspaper from Arthur Carter.
Recently, potential buyers of the newspaper have avoided making any offer to buy because of the enormous losses the paper is experiencing. De Niro plans to use his stardom to convince corporate big league to pour tons of cash into the whole project.
What a great combination, use the paper to promote the films that is in the Tribeca Film Festival. Not sure even his star power can stop the paper from bleeding.
