Supermodel Tyra Banks invited fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell onto her TV show, The Tyra Banks Show, for a cozy chit chat which turned into a big confrontation. On the show Tyra accused Naomi of sabotaging her modeling career in the 90s.
Tyra says,
I was tired of having to deal with you… I was tired of the pain; I was tired of the comparison.
I was tired of constantly hearing that I got cancelled from this job or that, or hearing that this photographer was called, or that magazine was called and (told) not to use me.
They should just put these two in a mud wrestling ring and have them duke it out, all this talking isn’t going to do anything. Besides the mud wrestling will really help the shows rating.

This page makes it seems as if Tyra lured Naomi onto the show and then out of no where made accusations to her. Thats wasn’t it at all. Tyra invited Naomi to the show so that they could talk out their problems and Years of Frustrations towards their media covered fuede. The whole point of the show was to work it out. I hate how you people try and vitcimize Naomi. Naomi has built her reputation on being a bitch who can do her job better than anyone, so why be surprised at something like that.
I thought the entire thing was ridiculous. Tyra Banks looked desperate, pathetic, and like she needed to bring Naomi in for ratings. Naomi Campbell handed herself suprisingly well, she seemed mature and you could tell that she had really moved on from that time in her life, and it just seemed blatantly clear that Tyra should do the same. Tyra can still only relate to Tyra at this point, although she seems to be working on it and getting better all the time. She’s working it!

I like both Tyra and Naomi, but if you ask me has a more symetrical body and Tyra, Naomi does not have excess any where she is just right, her body looks like a statue and the legs are so long and shapely. Tyra is more approchable her face is sweeter but her body her legs are kind of fat on the top and skinny on the bottom, and always looked a little flabby. She is more likable and that is why everybody say she is prettier than Naomi, but Naomi’s beauty is more sensual and exotic.
Tyra is very pretty. And she has a really good personality. I think she has a very feminine looking face while Naomi kinda looks like a guy.She has a very strong feature. Tyra has a gorgeous face and very curvy body. While Naomi has a very straight body that you could mistaken her for a teenage boy. Tyra has every right to talk about her feelings. i feel that both have their own look and identity. they are both successful in both the modeling field and other arenas. why a fight that was orgastrated in the first place? if they both know the media made it up then why buy into it?
tyra had no real proof of naomi messing up her photo opps. she never named names or specific times and dates. she gave vague statements in order to bait naomi so naomi would go off and cause a scene so maybe tyra could call in her posse to take away. also, tyra has this on film and can use it against naomi later.

There is no REAL comparison Naomi Sims and Tyra Banks. In fact, they appear to have nothing in common except the modeling career they chose.
Tyra is simply beautiful in every way that counts. Naomi is coyote ugly. No amount of fake hair, colored contacts, beautiful cloths or makeup can hide that. And though her body may appear to be a little tighter than Tyra’s, it’s probably due to many excessive hours of body toning/muscle building exercises and, from the look of her, male hormones to reduce fat cells. She has no identifiable feminine features or curves and her skin looks ashy and “crusty”.
Plus, Naomi’s attitude stinks. I know of many young girls who are inspired by Tyra’s image and personality, but none who are inspired by that cold, mean, ugly Naomi.
As I said, NO comparison, whatsoever!

Thank heavens for youtube because I was able to see the actual confrontaion betwwen these two fashion “ICONS”. First, of all it is easier always to pass judgement on people doing things most people will never do( i.e become celebrities, singers, dancers, politicians, being honest about your true sexuality etc..)
I applaud Tyra for releasing obvious emotional turmoil that had been building for so long, was it the most positive appropriate venue maybe not. Naomi deserves credit for keeping her cool and allowing tyra to vent. I have delt with non-american africans similiar to Naomi being that I myself am in the entertainment industry, and they can be cold, and very callous. It is my intention NOT to deal with them in the future on that level.
The sad thing to me about Naomi is that I feel she could go so much farther with the right attitude. It may be what people of other races, expect “a black girl getting press and fame and does not know how to handle it”. Similiar to the black athlete that camne out againsy gays,individuals on gay.com were saying comments like “Take them out of the ghetto, give them a little money and see how they act”!
Well the bottom line is we have to seperate the person from the art/talent. We have to appreciate people for where and who they are not who we wish they were. If we truly want things to be different in any arena we have to work to get to a level where we have a platform to make positive change.
I Once did a play with LISARAYE McCOy from UPN’s ALL OF US and she was quite critical of my appearance, dress, and demeanor. Well it hurt very deeply and I had to confront her during the filming of “Your gonna make me love somebody else” anyay sometimes when given the spotlight under that energy people’s true essence is no longer hidden. we are all truly a work in progress.
Today I encourage us all to focus on changing our own lives, and less focus on people most of us will never meet.

Tyra banks has a very ordinary look that can be dressed up with the right makeup and lighting. Naomi Campbell has the bone structure, the body type, and the walk.
I respect that Tyra is trying to make things “good” between the two of them, it’s a good example to set when it comes to women accepting and forgiving one another.

If you watch tv you see how Naomi isn’t as nice and kind to her fans as Trya is. Trya is fun and loving while Naomi is niether. The whole entire world knows it. I just wanted to say that I believe that tyra banks is alot more beautiful than naomi. yes she is more approachable, but thats not the reason why she is beautiful. her body in comparison to naomi is amazing. she is alot more voluptous and its sexier to look at than naomi’s rail thin body. granted naomis features are more exotic, but exotic does not equal universally beautiful i.e- Alek Wek, Nyabel etc.
