The California Supreme Court lifted the ban on gay marriage yesterday and Ellen DeGeneres took advantage of this news during taping of her show by announcing she will be marrying lesbian lover Portia de Rossi.

DeGeneres was taping the episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Thursday, the day the state’s high court struck down California laws against gay marriage, and it was to air Friday, a person close to the production said.

The person, who was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly, spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity.

I wonder who will be taking the other’s last name? From the picture above it looks like Portia won’t be the one taking anyone’s last name, but then again she isn’t bringing home the butter.

That’s right folks, Ellen DeGeneres thinks the fall sweeps is more important than supporting the writers in their strike when she crossed the picket line. While other actors and actresses have joined the writers outside picketing that’s not the case with Ellen. Ellen give the following reason to the audience about why she’s crossing the picketing line:

It’s sweeps. Which is a very important time in television because that’s when you do your best shows, your funniest material. You pull it out and do everything you can because you want everybody watching. And now we’re in the middle of a strike – a writer’s strike. This is a strange show for me to do … it’s a weird show.

I want to say I love my writers. I love them. In honor of them today, I’m not going to do a monologue. I support them and hope that they get everything they’re asking for. And I hope it works out soon. In the meantime, people have traveled across the country. They’ve made plans. They’re here. I want to do everything I can to make your trip enjoyable and give you a show.

Ellen loves her writers so she didn’t do a monologue? What BS, she probably didn’t do it because there wasn’t a writer to write the monologue. What Ellen really love is money, money, and more money. Maybe, Ellen just doesn’t like these writers, because she even canceled a show due to the whole Iggy situation.

After all that crying on her show about Mutts & Moms taking Iggy, the dog, away from her hairdresser’s home, it has been reveal that this isn’t the first time Ellen DeGeneres has recycled a dog to someone else. Kerri Randles, a Los Angeles producer, said she gave Ellen a dog which eventually was recycle to one of Ellen’s staff. And according to Howard Stern, Ellen has done this nine times before.

Kerri Randles says she gave DeGeneres a male mutt named Stormy two years ago, only to find out less than two months later that fickle Ellen had re-gifted him to a member of her staff.

“She may have had it for much less time than that. I only say two months because that’s when I called to check on the dog and found out she no longer had it,” Randles said. “I was totally shocked. I thought she was out of her mind.”

Randles said DeGeneres seemed a perfect pet owner at first, but she quickly discovered the daytime TV hostess was “neurotic and crazy.”

What’s wrong with Ellen? You would have thought after the third time Ellen would have stop adopting dogs and just visit a pet store to look at them. Maybe Ellen doesn’t know how to say NO and gets sucker into taking other people’s rejected dogs.

PETA is standing by Ellen DeGeneres in the Ellen vs. Mutts and Moms ordeal. PETA tells TMZ:

At a time when so many people in Hollywood, like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, are making impetuous “pet” purchases, PETA commends Ellen for adopting a homeless animal from a shelter rather than buying a dog. Every animal purchased from a pet store is a virtual death sentence for an animal desperately waiting in a shelter for a home.

We know that Ellen was trying to do the right thing in finding the dog a new home. She just missed a step in neglecting to contact the agency first. We hope that if the new home she arranged turns out to be as good as she thought, the agency will allow the family to take the dog back. PETA does think that Mutts & Moms’ policies of doing home checks and not allowing people to transfer animals to others are good rules that protect the animals. Ellen was just trying to do the right thing — she is a huge animal lover — and surely has learned from this experience.

PETA must be starstruck with their support for Ellen instead of Mutts & Moms. I mean shouldn’t these animal group side with each other?

Looks like the people at Mutts & Moms has found a solution to this whole thing, they have given the dog, Iggy, to someone else.
