The lovely couple Matthew McConaughey and Penelope Cruz have confirmed that they are really over. We had initially hinted that this might be true back in January of this year. The couple have decided to separate and spend some time apart after dating for a year. The two issued the following statement:

have decided to take time off as a couple. Due to busy work schedules and so much time apart, they mutually decided four weeks ago that separating was the best thing to do at this time,

Looks like to balance out the universe with all those celebrities having babies recently, one celebrity couple has to end their relationship. A source tells People magazine the couple most likely separated due to not being able to be together.

They’re very good friends, but they haven’t been able to be together. Who knows what the future holds.
