During a performance to honor Dolly Parton at the Kennedy Center Honors Jessica Simpson freaked out while singing the song “9 to 5.” During the song Jessica was clutching her midsection and at the end of the song she said, “Dolly, you make me so nervous, I can’t even sing the words right.” After that she ran off stage in tears just like sister Ashlee did on Saturday Night Live. The reason for this according to her publicist:

She was overcome with emotion performing the song for Dolly because she has idolized Dolly Parton her entire life and she wanted the song to be perfect. When it wasn’t, she was upset with herself.

Next time we how Jessica comes to a performance prepare with the lyric of the song shes going to sing that night or better yet Kennedy Center Honors should just get real singers.
