You probably heard about Beyonce & Jay-Z’s wedding on April 4th, but now they are officially a married couple. They have signed their marriage license and returned it to Scarsdale, NY for processing.

Scarsdale Town Clerk Donna Conkling tells PEOPLE the license – which lists the wedding date as April 4 – was received on Friday afternoon.

They must have been deciding if they really wanted to be married because it took them more than five days to file the license. Luckily for them they are not alone in filing late so the penalty for late filing will be waived.
