Al Lewis Munster Mash
Al Lewis 1910 – 2006Al Lewis better known as Grandpa Munster in the television show The Munsters has died at the age of 95.
In 1998, Al Lewis ran in the New York Governor office as the Green Party candidate against republican incumbent George E. Pataki. Although he lost the race, he still manage to get more than 52,000 votes.
Lewis was hospitalized in 2003 for an angioplasty. After suffering a complications during the surgery Lewis’ right leg was amputated below the knee and the toes on his left foot. The next month Lewis was in a coma.
Lewis is survived by wife Karen Ingenthron-Lewis, three sons, and four grandchildren.
